Yesterday morning, it was confirmed on ANN, that Hulu is getting rid of a lot of anime from almost every publisher on June 1. There has been an update that not as many as originally thought were leaving, which surfaced early Saturday morning, but it still is a lot being axed. It seems that Hulu is keeping bigger titles, and stuff from Viz, but their more niche titles will soon cease to see the light of day, unfortunately. Which means one of the big legal streaming services for anime, which often has stuff that you can’t find on Netflix, Crunchyroll, Amazon Video, or YouTube, won’t be as much as a key player, but we’ll see how everything pans out.
Disclaimer: despite the featured image, Hellsing is not one of the titles that has been confirmed to be disappearing (if Hulu still even has it in the first place); but this image is fitting.
